community projects

Citizen initiatives help improve the quality of life in Topsfield. Below are current projects undertaken by community groups on Town property. These projects are funded by private donations and volunteer labor.

Veterans' Memorial Triangle

Veterans MemorialmonumentThe Topsfield Main Street Foundation and the Park and Cemetery Department honor our veterans with this project that will bring together in one place the monuments commemorating Topsfield's veterans' service to our country. The monument remembering veterans of both World Wars has been moved to the to theTriangle and placed opposite a new stone on which a Vietnam War memorial plaque will be installed. Landscaping will be completed in time for a dedication ceremony in November of 2009.

South Main Street Walking Path

The Topsfield Main Street Foundation in conjunction with many Town boards, committees and community groups is installing a stone dust walking path along South Main Street from Maple Street to Salem Road. The poison ivy has been removed, the area graded, and the stone wall rebuilt in its original rustic form. This project will provide a safe walking area along South Main Street. With the beautification efforts in the public right of way and on abutting properties, this project complements the Welcome to Topsfield sign at the corner of Route 1 and South Main Street and makes a primary access to Topsfield's center more inviting and attractive.

Topsfield Linear Common
